City of Livermore Awards and Recognitions

The City of Livermore celebrates the accomplishments of its departments, divisions, and individual staff.  Below are some recent national, state and regional awards given to the City of Livermore:

Finance Division Receives CAFR Award
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the City of Livermore Finance Division the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011.  The CAFR is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Livermore Police Department recognized by the California Highway Patrol and the California Office of Traffic Safety
On August 13, 2012 the Livermore Police Department received the Commissioner's Award for Best Overall Traffic Safety Program in the State, regardless of agency size, from the California Law Enforcement Challenge.  Livermore is the first agency to win the Commissioner's Choice Award two years in a row.  LPD also received First Place awards for their Child Safety Seat and Motorcycle Safety Programs.
 
 i-GATE Innovation Hub Receives National Award
In April 2012, the i-GATE Innovation Hub received the Thomas H. Muehlenbeck Award, one of two national prizes awarded by the Alliance for Innovation, for excellence in local government.  For more information, visit the  i-GATE web page.
 
 
2012 Tree City USA Designation
In April 2012, the Arbor Day Foundation recognized the City of Livermore as a Tree City USA community for our commitment to urban forestry.  The City of Livermore has earned this national designation for the past 19 years, and was commended for making planting and caring for trees a priority.


 
 


 


Livermore Police Department recognized by the California Highway Patrol and the California Office of Traffic Safety
In August 2011, the Livermore Police Department received four Traffic Safety Awards from the California Law Enforcement Challenge.  The Awards included Best Traffic Safety Program for agencies with 86-105 officers, the Special Award for Child Safety, the Special Award for Motorcycle Safety, and the Commissioners Award for Best Overall Traffic Safety Program in the State, regardless of agency size.  For more information, please see the press release.
