Mayor's Summit on Homelessness

On April 30, Mayor John Marchand convened a Summit on Homelessness to bring together elected officials, non-profit organizations, the faith community, community members and homeless to examine ways to reduce and prevent homelessness in the Tri-Valley region. Two hundred (200) people attended the event and participated in 5 breakout sessions that discussed a variety of topics including homeless prevention, chronic homelessness and regional collaboration strategies.

“The purpose of the Summit is to not simply sustain homelessness, but to find ways to lift people out of homelessness.”  Mayor Marchand

A final report on the findings of the Summit with recommended action steps will be presented to Council in the coming months.  When completed, the final report will be placed on this page.
