The City of Livermore Redevelopment Agency was established in 1982 with the goal to physically redevelop and economically revitalize the historic downtown area impacted by blighted properties. Redevelopment Agency supported activities help create an exciting community and tourist destination that includes shopping, dining, entertainment and cultural arts opportunities.
A minimum of 20% of the redevelopment tax increment funds are used to provide affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income households. Specific housing programs include: First-Time Homebuyers Program, Housing Rehabilitation Program, and blending affordable housing units into private development projects. Also, RDA funds are used to support programs that attract businesses, improve storefronts and bring special events downtown to help the local economy.
