Stockmen's Park will be located south of Blacksmith Square on Livermore Avenue. The 1.5-acre, horseshoe-shaped park will honor Livermore's veterans and ranching heritage. It will also serve as the focal point of over 3.5 acres of public open space and green space running from Livermore Avenue to South L Street.
The City is currently gathering public input to help generate design ideas and eventually a preferred park plan. Thank you to those who completed the online survey and who attended the Community Open House held on July 11th. Public input received about the design of Stockmen’s Park is being consolidated and additional public feedback is requested. Please come to the Livermore Farmer’s Market on Thursday, August 2nd, to view and comment on the most recent park design concepts.
Stockmen's Park Groundbreaking
On Saturday, May 19th over 100 people attended the ground breaking of Stockmen's Park. The horseshoe shaped park is being built in honor of Livermore Veterans and our ranching heritage.
Because parking was the number one concern of the community, a new parking structure on L Street is scheduled to break ground in spring of 2019. In order to maintain the current amount of parking during construction of the parking structure, the City has demolished two vacant buildings behind Blacksmith Square and is improving the surface lot in four phases beginning in June.
Construction of the new east-west road connecting L Street to Livermore Avenue will start later this summer. The City is working with consultants to design the L Street parking garage and with Presidio Companies to refine the design of the hotel.
The City selected RRM Design Group as the Stockmen’s Park landscape architect. The City is in the process of selecting developers for the new commercial buildings, cultural facilities, workforce housing, and artists for the art in Stockmen’s Park. New information kiosks near the project site will be updated periodically as progress continues.
