On Saturday, May 19th over 100 people attended the ground breaking of Stockmen's Park. The horseshoe shaped park is being built in honor of Livermore Veterans and our ranching heritage.
Implementation of the Downtown Plan is underway! Because parking was the number one concern of the community, a new parking structure on L Street is scheduled to break ground in spring of 2019. In order to maintain the current amount of parking during construction of the parking structure, the City has demolished two vacant buildings behind Blacksmith Square and is improving the surface lot in four phases beginning in June.
Construction of the new east-west road connecting L Street to Livermore Avenue will start later this summer. The City is working with consultants to design the L Street parking garage and with Presidio Companies to refine the design of the hotel.
The City selected RRM Design Group as the Stockmen’s Park landscape architect. The City is in the process of selecting developers for the new commercial buildings, cultural facilities, workforce housing, and artists for the art in Stockmen’s Park. New information kiosks near the project site will be updated periodically as progress continues.
