- HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER.

- AT LEAST ONE HOUSEHOLD MEMBER MUST BE LIVING WITH A PHYSICAL DISABILITY, A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY, MENTAL ILLNESS, OR A CHRONIC LONG TERM HEALTH CONDITION.

 

Applications will be available online and at the property when the waiting list for 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units at University Neighborhood Apartments opens on August 30, 2018. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The waiting list will close on September 13, 2018. Applications must be returned in person or by mail to University Neighborhood Apartments, 1721 University Avenue, Attn: Manager's Office, Berkeley, CA 94703.

Applications must be received by September 13, 2018. A lottery will be conducted for all applications received by the deadline. Only the top 50 applications pulled from the lottery will be placed on the waiting list for consideration. Mortgage Assistance

The City of Livermore's Mortgage Assistance program provides a second mortgage loan for low- to moderate-income first time homebuyers who desire to live in the City of Livermore. This loan can assist with the down payment, reducing the first mortgage, and/or pay for some of the closing costs.

Affordable Homeownership Opportunities

Low to moderate income home buyers seeking to purchase an affordable below market-rate home may check out the various affordable homeownership opportunities the City provides.

Homebuyer Education

ECHO’s Homebuyer Education and Learning Program assists potential homebuyers by providing individual and classroom training regarding client credit counseling, homeownership incentives, home buying opportunities, and predatory lending. This service is offered to Alameda and Contra Costa County residents. Livermore and Pleasanton residents can click this link to learn more about free homeownership counseling and classes.

Mortgage Default Counseling/Assistance 

A Mortgage Default Counseling Agency can provide unbiased information and assistance to help avoid foreclosure or assist during the foreclosure process.

Home Repairs

Is your home in need of minor repairs? Financial assistance may be available to low-income homeowners through the City's Housing Rehabilitation Program - Grants and Loans.

Tri-Valley Rental Housing Opportunities Guide lists apartment complexes in the area that have affordable units within the complex. You will need to contact each complex you are interested in to find if they have any available units or if you could be placed on a wait list.

Homeless

Homeless Prevention

The homeless Rapid Rehousing Program offered through ABODE Services designed to assist individuals and families to quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent housing. For more information please click here.

Homeless Refuge

Livermore Homeless Refuge provides a clean, dry, warm and safe refuge for people who need a place to stay. It operates November 1st through April 30th during inclement weather. For information please call (925) 292-0265.

Emergency one-night Motel Vouchers may be accessed through these agencies.
