Apply Now for Livermore Tourism and Special Event Grants

The City of Livermore is pleased to announce the availability of the 2017-2018 Tourism and Special Event Grants. Under this program, five (5) grants of $1000 each will be awarded to organizations that successfully demonstrate that their event will directly benefit Livermore downtown businesses and local wineries. The application period is May 4-31, 2017. The application form and guidelines are now posted on the City of Livermore website at http://www.cityoflivermore.net/visitors/resources/programs.htm. Forms are also available at City Hall, 1052 S. Livermore Avenue, Livermore, CA.

Over 30 Employers to Hold Hiring Events in Livermore and Dublin

Tri-Valley Region, Calif., April 11, 2017 - Job seekers are encouraged to attend two of the region’s largest spring hiring events on April 25 at the Robert Livermore Community Center in Livermore and May 4 at the Shannon Community Center in Dublin. Both hiring events will take place from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The events will connect Tri-Valley job seekers with opportunities at more than 30 employers from the public and private sectors. Participating employers are hiring for a variety of part-time and full-time positions including home health care providers, machine fabricators, engineers, FBI agents, swim instructors, logistics staff, and more.

Tri-Valley Cities and Chambers of Commerce Announce Business Event

Tri-Valley, CA—The town of Danville and the cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon, and their respective chambers of commerce are partnering to host the Tri-Valley Commerce Con: Cyber-Savvy Edition on May 3, 2017. The event, which is designed to connect the region’s small businesses with local resources, is focused this year on leveraging social media.

Livermore Valley Hospitality Rally Training Event

Livermore, California –The Livermore Valley Hospitality Rally will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 9am-11:30am at the Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort and Spa located at 4549 Cross Rd, Livermore, CA. Restaurant owners, retailers, hoteliers, wine growers, and their employees are encouraged to attend this event, which is a collaborative effort between the City of Livermore, Livermore Downtown Inc. and Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association, among other groups. Event features include a networking breakfast, training session, and a display of resources for businesses and professionals in the retail, hospitality, and tourism industry.

Manufacturing Careers Hiring Event

A Manufacturing Careers Hiring Event will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 10am-3pm at the Robert Livermore Community Center. The City of Livermore, Alameda County Workforce Development Board, the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD), and other groups will host this free event, which is open to adults who are interested in pursuing or continuing a career in manufacturing. The event will feature information sessions by local manufacturers as well as interviews and hiring opportunities.

Tri-Valley Celebrates Manufacturing Day on October 7

On October 7, 2016, the cities of Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin, local educational institutions, and participating manufacturing businesses will celebrate Tri-Valley Manufacturing Day with local high school and Las Positas College students. This collaborative effort is designed to create learning opportunities tailored to the Tri-Valley’s unique manufacturing careers and to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Planned events include plant tours of Bakefresh, Topcon Positioning Systems and Lam Research in Livermore, Simpson Strong-Tie Company in Pleasanton, and AMP Printing in Dublin.

The cities of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton and their respective Chambers of Commerce join the San Francisco office of the Small Business Administration (SBA) to host the Tri-Valley Small Business Series from May to November 2015. The series is designed to connect the region’s small businesses with local resources and to celebrate the important role that small business plays in the region.
