Each year the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department implements a vegetation management program to help ensure undeveloped properties are maintained in a fire safe manner.
The program is adopted by the City Councils each year in early Spring. This adoption identifies the properties subject to the program.
Notices are sent to the properties on the list specifying the maintenance standards and the applicable deadline (typically May 31). The first two weeks in June the Fire Department inspect the properties. Those properties that do not meet the standards are referred to the city contractor for abatement work. The property owners are responsible for reimbursing the cities for this work.
