Who May Exhibit ?
- Non-commercial groups.
- Those based in Livermore or serving primarily Livermore residents receive priority.
- Groups which have exhibited less than four weeks in the previous twelve months receive priority.
What Does It Cost?
The space is free and exhibits are open without charge.
How Often and for How Long Can Space Be Reserved?
- Minimum of one week.
- Maximum of four weeks per twelve months.
- No more than twelve months in advance.
- Groups which have not used the space in the past twelve months get priority.
What Spaces Are Available?
- The following spaces are available:
- Art Gallery
- Large Gallery Bulletin Board - 4' x 8'
- Small Gallery Bulletin Board - 4' x 6'
- Only one space may be used at a time.
- The entire space selected must be filled.
What Fixtures Are Provided?
Cobra and Steel Cable with self locking hook display system.
May We Bring Other Display Fixtures?
Yes, if they have the prior approval from the Library Director.
How to Reserve the Bulletin Boards
- Contact the Library Administration Office - 925-373-5500 extension 5599 Monday through Friday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..
- Complete and print the exhibit form.
- Exhibitor provides a full list of items to be displayed including monetary value when the exhibit is installed.
- Library accepts no responsibility for the preservation, protection, possible damage or theft of any item displayed or exhibited.
How to Reserve the Gallery
- Contact the Library Administration Office - 925-373-5500 extension 5599 Monday through Friday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for current availability before filling out a form.
- Complete and submit an Art Gallery Interest Form to Library Administration from the 1st-5th of the month no more than a year in advance of the month you want to exhibit. For example, you would submit an Interest Form September 1st-5th of 2011 for an exhibit in September 2012. You will then receive a written response around the 10th of that month.
- Exhibitor provides a full list of items to be displayed including monetary value when the exhibit is installed.
- Library accepts no responsibility for the preservation, protection, possible damage or theft of any item displayed or exhibited.
What Are the Exhibit Standards?
- All items displayed in the gallery must be stabilized so that they may be installed using the Cobra and Steel Cable with self locking hook display system.
- Lettering on all signs and labels should be of high quality, neat, and clear.
- Labels must be mounted on the item being exhibited rather than the wall.
- A sign including contact information about the exhibitors is recommended.
- Prices of items for sale and contact information for purchase may be listed on a single sheet.
- Exhibits may not be changed after installation.
When and How Are Exhibits Installed?
- Exhibitors are entirely responsible for installing their displays.
- Exhibitors must provide all necessary equipment including ladders for display installation.
- Bulletin Board users should provide a backing to cover the cork surface.
- Exhibitors must install the entire display at the same time.
- When possible exhibits should be installed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m..
- Installation time must be coordinated with the Library Administration Office to avoid conflict with Community Room users and other exhibitors.
Reconsideration of an exhibit
Print a request for reconsideration of an exhibit. Forms can be submitted to the Library Administration office located at the Civic Center Library - 1188 S. Livermore Avenue.
