- The Livermore Public Library welcomed 578,442 visitors to its three sites.
- Library staff assisted an average of 1,722 patrons each week with answers to reference and other questions.
- 1,106,790 items were checked out of the library.
- In Livermore, 10.3% of adults over 25 have not yet completed a high school education and 6% of adults over 18 are English-language learners. The Library provided one-to-one basic literacy or English as a Second Language tutoring to more than 354 adult learners in 2010.
- Patrons logged on to the library’s 87 public computers 182,899 times to do research, to word process resumes and other documents, to send and receive e-mail, to search for and apply for jobs, or to shop, play games, blog and surf the Internet.
- More than 19,000 children and their families and caregivers gathered at the library for 410 story-times, summer reading programs, and other activities.
- 322 teens participated in 22 programs that offered fun and constructive options for their free time.
- Programs such as Authors and Arts, Livermore Reads Together, Armchair Travelers, and computer classes were enjoyed by 4599 adults.
- Volunteers gave 30,964 hours of their time staffing the Friends of the Livermore Library bookstore, tutoring adult students in the Livermore READ Project, helping people complete and file their taxes, shelving books, and more.
