Contemporary Chinese Art
Art historian Marcy B. Freedman will present her program "Contemporary Chinese Art: A Meeting of East and West" at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center at 2pm on Sunday, June 10. Marcy Freedman’s one-hour presentation will help us understand this phenomenon through her studies of the accomplishments of Chinese painters, photographers, video and performance artists. The Friends of the Livermore Library have generously underwritten this program as part of the Friends Authors and Arts Series.

Free Computer Classes
Free hands-on computer training classes will be held at the Civic Center Library on Monday afternoons in June. Classes include The Best of the Web, Internet for Beginners, Searching the Internet, and The Wonders of Google. No registration is required, but classes are first come, first served. ASL Storytime Rescheduled
The canceled May 15 ASL storytime for deaf children at Livermore Public Library has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. This will be the final offering of deaf storytimes for the Spring. Melinda Harrison Jones, a teacher from the California School for the Deaf, will be presenting this special storytime in the Storytime Room of the Civic Center Library.

Summer Reading for All Ages
Summer reading is for everyone at the Livermore Public Library! Children who are independent readers can participate in the “Dream Big, Read!” Summer Reading Program while pre-readers are invited to take part in a special reading program designed just for them. Teens entering grades 6-12 can participate in the teen reading program where they can earn raffle tickets and enter to win exciting prizes. Even adults can join in with a program tailored just for them. Prizes will be awarded in all programs, with the goal of reading, sharing what was read, and having fun! Celebrate Rodeo with the Stardust Cowboys
The Stardust Cowboys will perform at 2pm on Sunday, June 3 at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center. The Stardust Cowboys, a Northern California based band, play a blend of mostly original with western traditional tunes, reminiscent of the ’40s-’50s Bob Wills, Spade Cooley and Gene Autry era, honoring both the cowboys of yesteryear and silver screen with songs about the Old West. The Friends of the Livermore Library have generously underwritten this program as part of the Friends Authors and Arts Series.
