Free Computer Classes in October

Free hands-on computer training classes will be held at the Civic Center Library on several Wednesday evenings in October. Classes include Internet for Beginners, Searching the Internet, and The Wonders of Google. All classes will be held in Community Room B of the Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Avenue. No registration is required, but classes are first come, first served. Classes are scheduled as follows:
Internet for Beginners
Wednesday, October 3, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Find out why they call it “surfing the net”! Beginners will learn how to use the features of Internet Explorer and visit and navigate websites. Participants must have basic keyboarding and mousing skills.
Searching the Internet
Wednesday, October 10, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
In this follow-up to “Internet for Beginners” participants will review the features of Internet Explorer and learn how to find information on the Internet using the Google search engine. Participants must have basic Internet navigation skills.
The Wonders of Google
Wednesday, October 24, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Explore advanced Google search techniques and cool features such as maps, news, images and shopping. Participants must have basic Internet searching skills.
