Asbury Players Perform "The Dixie Swim Club"
October 28, 2012
Enjoy a free performance of The Dixie Swim Club performed by the Asbury Players on Sunday, October 28 at 2pm, at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center, 1188 S. Livermore Avenue. There is no charge for this event.
Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years.
The Asbury Players is an amateur theatrical troupe that was formed in 1991, performing classic comedies, musicals, mysteries and melodramas. Led by director Barbara David, the Asbury Players present three productions each year at Livermore’s Asbury United Methodist Church. The Friends of the Livermore Library have generously underwritten this program as part of the Friends Authors and Arts Series.
