West Coast Swing Band Lone Star Retrobates
June 2, 2013
The West Coast Swing band Lone Star Retrobates performs at the Livermore Public Library Civic Center on Sunday, June 2 at 2pm. Sunday, June 2 at 2pm. There is no charge for this event.
Rev up for Rodeo Week with the Lone Star Retrobates - a Bay Area based boot-scootin’, wingtips-flyin’ dance band specializing in authentic West Coast Swing. Featuring trumpet, twin fiddles, pedal steel guitar, drums and standup bass, plus rich four- part vocal harmonies and even trick yodeling on demand, the Retrobates sashay from hot swing to honkytonk. Let’s say Ella and The Inkspots were to gig with Bob Wills at the corner of Louis Jordan and Ray Price, and say Johnny Mercer and the Pied Pipers were sitting in — that’s the Retrobates in a nutshell!
The Friends of the Livermore Library have generously underwritten this program as part of the Friends Authors and Arts Series.
