Reading will be Delicious at the Livermore Public Library this summer! In conjunction with the 2013 Summer Reading Program, “Reading is So Delicious,” children in grades 3 through 6 are invited to enter a food sculpture contest on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Judging begins at 2:00pm.
Children should make a food sculpture at home and bring it to the library at 2:00 PM on the day of the event. Food sculptures must be edible, based on a character or theme of a book, and must include one healthy snack. First, second, third place, honorable mention certificates, and a grand prize will be awarded in each grade level (grades 3-6 only).
The Livermore Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is a free program featuring special events and prizes for all ages. Scheduled programs throughout the summer include storytimes, crafts, a wildlife presentation and international performances. Pick up a 2013 “Reading is So Delicious!” calendar of events at any of the library’s three locations. For further information, please call 925-373-5504.
