Learn the history and art of bonsai at the Livermore Public Library, 1188 S. Livermore Avenue, at 2pm on Sunday, March 23. There is no charge for this event.
Charles Harder, teacher and president of the local Valley Bonsai Society, will give a brief discussion and demonstration on the history, art and technique of bonsai. From its possible origins to present day, he will touch on some of the styles and techniques in the art, and will perform an initial styling of a tree.
Founded in 2008, the Valley Bonsai Society is an organization established to create a group of local bonsai enthusiasts with all levels of experience or expertise. These individuals learn together and encourage the continuation and education of the art of bonsai.
