The Livermore Public Library invites teens to participate in the 2014 Teen Art Exposition and Competition. The Livermore Public Library is sponsoring this unique opportunity for teens to share their artistic talent with local artists and the Livermore community. This year’s Art Expo theme is Transitions.
Livermore residents in the sixth through twelfth grades are encouraged to submit an original piece of art. Works eligible for this exhibit are limited to 2D visual media in the following categories, Painting: watercolor and acrylics; Drawing: pencil, pen and ink, and pastels; Photography: digital and traditional. Entries will be accepted from Monday, March 3, 2014 through 5 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Civic Center Library.
Art work will be judged in each category at two levels, Level 1: 6th-8th grade, and Level 2: 9th -12th grade. Ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show, Best in Class, and Honorable Mention. Students may enter one art piece either as an individual or as part of a team. All artists are limited to one submittal only and participants may not enter as part of a team and as an individual. All artwork must be framed and/or matted with a hanging system.
Teen artwork will be on display during the library’s regular hours from April 1 through 7:30p.m., April 30 in the Civic Center Library Art Gallery. Artwork will be shown as space allows. Artwork will be judged and ribbons awarded by Tuesday, April 8, 2014. The community is invited to attend the Artist’s Reception that will take place Tuesday evening on April 8, 2014 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in Community Room A of the Civic Center Library.
