An Evening with Livermore Poet Laureate Cynthia J. Patton

AN EVENING WITH THE NEW LIVERMORE POET LAUREATE CYNTHIA J. PATTON AT THE LIBRARY

Meet the new Poet Laureate, Cynthia J. Patton, on Thursday, October 19, 2017, 7 p.m., at the Civic Center Library, located at 1188 S. Livermore Ave.  This program is free to the general public.   Patton will discuss her poetry collection, Across An Aqueous Moon: Travels in Autism (Finishing Line Press, 2016).

Cynthia J. Patton was recently appointed as the fourth Poet Laureate of Livermore. She follows Kevin Gunn, who served from 2013 to 2017. Patton’s term began on July 1, 2017.

Patton, a Livermore resident, is an attorney, author, consultant, and autism advocate.  She is the founder of the nonprofit organization, Autism A to Z.  Her award-winning work has appeared in twelve anthologies, such as the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, as well as numerous print and online publications.  Her story, Elliott Comes to Play, was recently performed on stage by the Petaluma Readers Theatre. She’s currently completing a memoir on her unexpected and unconventional journey to motherhood, tentatively titled My Guardian Angel Sings The Blues. Learn more at CynthiaJPatton.com.
