As a part of Livermore Reads Together (LRT), the Rincon Library will show a movie on Friday, February 16th, 2018, from 3:15 pm until 5:00 pm. The film, just like the LRT book, is set in India. The Jungle Book, based on a book by Rudyard Kipling, follows the main character, Mowgli, as he experiences adventure in his quest to survive in the jungle. Rated PG, this film is the newest re-make of this classic story, having been released in 2016. Free popcorn will be served at this showing. All ages are welcome at this event, yet commonsensemedia.org reviews this movie as most suitable for children ages 9 and up.
Livermore Reads Together 2018 is a community reading program, featuring the New York Times bestseller and #1 international bestseller A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley. The community of Livermore is invited to read A Long Way Home, and join their neighbors by participating in events related to Indian and Australian culture, travel, Google Earth and more during the month of February 2018. Copies of books and event schedules will be available at all Livermore Public Library locations.
All Livermore Reads Together events are free and open to the public, thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Livermore Public Library.
