The Livermore Public Library invites nature lovers of all ages for a leisurely hike down the Arroyo Bike Trail with Dr. Mark Brunell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Discover the names and natural history of the cultivated, native, and weedy plant species growing along the trail.
Hikers will assemble in front of the Livermore Public Library Civic Center entrance doors by the circular seating area at 10:00 a.m. The gentle hike will last approximately one hour and will conclude at the Civic Center Library. Bring comfortable shoes, sun protection, and water. Participants are asked to sign-up by calling 925-373-5505.
Dr. Mark Brunell holds a doctorate in Botany and Plant Sciences, and has been a professor of biology at the University of the Pacific since 2002. He is past-president of the Alameda County Master Gardener advisory board, and is currently president of the California Botanical Society. He lives in Livermore with his wife and two children.
