The Livermore Public Library will be hosting three robotics and computer programming workshops this spring. These Robotics Playshops will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2019, Saturday, April 20, 2019, and Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Civic Center Library.
A RoboRAVE volunteer will teach participants how to use the C-Style programming language in order to instruct a Daisen robot to execute a variety of commands, including moving, lighting up, and avoiding obstacles. Previous robotics or computer programming knowledge is not necessary.
Participants receive one month subscription to RoboSensei online platform sponsored by The Valerio Foundation.
Registration is required and is limited to the first ten participants. Participants must be going into grades 5 and up. Call the Library’s Youth Room Desk at (925) 373- 5504 to register.
The March Playshop is currently full, however, registration for the April Playshop opens on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Registration for the May Playshop opens on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
Parents are welcome to stay and work with their children.
