Rincon Library Classic Movie Night: The 39 Steps

Enjoy a free screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 classic film, The 39 Steps. The film will be shown at the Rincon Branch library on Monday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m.

Robert Donat plays Richard Hannay, a Canadian tourist swept up into a fast-paced mystery that begins in London. Hannay unwittingly becomes involved with a spy and is falsely accused of her murder. He escapes to Scotland in an attempt to unravel the mystery and clear his name. Hannay is alone and on the run from both police and the killer but in an unexpected twist in the action, he is linked to Pamela, played by Madeleine Carroll. Together the protagonists bring a satisfying conclusion to the tangled spy thriller. The movie is loosely based on the 1915 novel The Thirty-Nine Steps, by John Buchan.
