The Livermore Police Department is currently undergoing a comprehensive process in order to receive accreditation from The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. - more commonly known by the acronym CALEA. This nationwide authority on standards of excellence will help assure that the department is following the "best practices" in policies and procedures recommended for law enforcement agencies of our size. We hope to complete this process and earn accreditation in 2013.
