Livermore Airport

Noise Abatement

Noise Sensitivity Areas

The Livermore Airport has noise sensitive areas 3/4 miles to the east in the City of Livermore and 2 miles west and northwest in the City of Pleasanton and the City of Dublin. Any safe efforts and quiet-flying techniques that pilots can apply to reduce the noise impact on those areas are much appreciated and help the Airport to maintain a positive relationship with our neighbors.

Voluntary Restraint From Night Flying

In an effort to mitigate noise complaints resulting from increasing night operations and to foster public relations, the Airport Commission of the Livermore Municipal Airport issued the following policy statement and request for distribution and publication effective January 14, 2002:

“Aircraft operators, especially those operating jet aircraft, are requested to adhere to the “Livermore Airport Voluntary Restraint from Night Flying Time Period” and refrain from flying between 2200 hours and 0600 hours local time.”

Cooperation with the above policy is urgently needed to preserve quiet time for the community residing adjacent to the airport. Please call us at (925) 960-8220 if you have any questions or desire additional information.

For more information on how Federal Law supports reduced noise impacts created by Stage 2 jets, see the final approved federal legislation prohibiting the use of Stage 2 business jets in the contiguous U.S. after December 31, 2015. This ban affects the "noisy jets" that are of concern to the community.
