At 8:50 PM, Livermore Police Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a structure fire at 820 Grace Street.  The residence was on fire and filling up with smoke.  While responding officers were in route to the structure fire, LPD Dispatch received a 911 call reporting that there was an elderly woman trapped inside the residence.

About the same time, LPD Officer Brian Sleeper was the first Officer to arrive on scene and was immediately told by neighbors that the elderly woman inside the residence.  Officer Sleeper ran towards the residence, kicked open the front door, entered the burning house and ultimately located the elderly women inside the residence lying on the floor in the master bedroom.  Officer Sleeper picked up the women and carried her outside the house where she received medical attention.  As a result of Officer Sleeper’s quick actions of entering the burning residence, the elderly woman was uninjured.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The Livermore Police Department would like to thank the neighbors for immediately notifying Officer Sleeper that the house was occupied by the elderly women.  If anyone has information regarding the structure fire, they are encouraged to call the Livermore Police Department at (925) 371-4900.
