Livermore Economic Development Department Manager Catherine Hagebusch Receives Honorable Mention for International Award

The City of Livermore Economic Development Department is proud to announce that its Manager, Catherine Hagebusch, has received an award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) during its Annual Conference in Columbus Ohio on September 27. The IEDC is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to helping Economic Development professionals work effectively to improve the quality of life in their regions. The IEDC highlights exceptional programs and best practices through its annual awards. Ms. Hagebusch received the honorable mention for the Outstanding New Economic Developer of the Year Award. According to IEDC Chair William Best, the IEDC recognized Ms. Hagebusch for her "many a triumphant endeavor since her entrée into the business of economic development".


Ms. Hagebusch started her City career as an Associate Planner in 1999 and was an Associate Planner prior to being promoted to her current position. While working with the Livermore Planning Division, Ms. Hagebusch worked as a lead for the Livermore Downtown Revitalization Project, which led her to discover her passion for the economic development field. Since October 2007, she has facilitated the development of the City-Wide Economic Incentive Program aimed at attracting new sales tax generating businesses and high-wage paying businesses, Science and Technology Business Center, and the new State of California designated I-GATE Innovation Hub. As staff liaison to the City’s Commission for the Arts, Ms. Hagebusch managed the implementation of two major mural projects and has recently been named the Executive Director of the non-profit Livermore Cultural Arts Foundation.


Ms.Hagebusch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Regional Development from the University of California, Davis and a Masters degree in Leadership from Saint Mary’s College, Moraga.
