Poetry in a Test Tube: The City of Livermore's Science Poetry Contest is back, with more cash prizes thanks to a generous grant from the Livermore Commission for the Arts. The contest is open to all ages. There are no restrictions as to the type or style of poem, but it must in some way relate to the theme of science. Poems are due March 8, 2018. Poet Laureate Cynthia Patton selected the January Teen Poet. The theme was Fire and Ice. Matteo Musso, was selected for his poem, "Hot Times in Our World." Four teens received honorable mention: Gabriela Paneda for "Untitled," Grace Mori for "Fire and Ice," Andy Shu for "A Humble King," and Madison Davis for "Do Opposites Attract?"
