Successful City Town Hall Meeting -- The first-of-its-kind City Town Hall meeting occurred on Thursday evening, August 30th.  Over 40 residents heard the Mayor's State of the City Address, and had the opportunity to ask questions.  The Mayor spoke about the City's improving financial situation, transit issues, i-GATE, and the power of one individual volunteer.  The Mayor and staff also clarified some facts about BART to Livermore, the Regional Theater, and library services via audience questions.  Marc citymanager@cityoflivermore.net

New Livermore Fire Engine--  At 26 years of age and 145,000 miles, a fire engine is past its prime.  So, the Livermore/Pleasanton Fire Department purchased a new engine for the City.  The new engine, pictured here, cost $500,000, and will reside at Fire Station 9 on Cordoba Street.  The old one will be donated to the Las Positas College Fire Service Technology Program.  If you'd like a chance to see this shiny, new vehicle, come to the City Council Chambers, 3575 Pacific Avenue, on Monday, September 10th at 6:30 pm.  Don't forget to bring the kids!

Graffiti Hotline -- A resident at the City Town Hall Meeting inquired about the ability to report graffiti on private as well as public buildings.  Police Chief Sweeney replied that the community is welcome to report any graffiti.  People have three options:  1) Call the Graffiti Hotline at 925-960-8060, 2) Report the graffiti through the City's website via a "Maintenance Request Form", or 3) Use the City's Mobile app. The app can be downloaded from the "We're Social" segment of the City website, www.cityoflivermore.net,  near the bottom.

vineyards11.jpg    Climate Action Plan Outreach -- Mark your calendars for Thursday evening, September 27th to provide input into a proposed City Climate Action Plan.  The draft plan, which is part of the Livermore General Plan, outlines voluntary measures that will reduce greenhouse gas emission levels produced within the City. This plan also supports the statewide effort established by the Assembly Bill 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act, to reduce emissions in California to 1990 levels by 2020.  Additional details and updates will be posted on the City's website at www.cityoflivermore.net
