Our Close-Up, Please! We know that Livermore is a fabulous place to live and work....and the word is spreading.  The City has purposefully invested in marketing efforts to highlight City assets.  Our video presence continues to expand....I just hope the camera doesn't add ten pounds.  Read below about two new video projects, a new trail to explore...and how more people are re-discovering Livermore.  Marc

Video Visibility!-- The "Today in America" program recently filmed at various locations around town and interviewed City officials and business leaders on camera.  The resulting five minute video will be shown in at least ten major national television markets.  CGI Communications filmed around town earlier this month, too, in order to develop several short videos on Livermore's assets like its science, innovation, and business opportunities, award-winning downtown, wine and western heritage, etc. for linkage to the City's website.  Watch as our "star" rises.

Arroyo Trail Opens -- There's a new link between Livermore and Pleasanton -- the Arroyo Trail!  This 2-mile long trail offers pedestrians, bicyclists -- and even equestrians -- with a route between Isabel Avenue and El Charro Road.  Funded with $760,000 from the State, the trail is located along the south side of West Jack London Blvd.  The trail is already open for use, and a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 1:00 pm near the intersection of West Jack London Blvd. and Paragon Outlets Drive.  So, walk or ride on over!

Real Estate Recognition--  We're #5 -- in a national list of the top ten "hot" real estate markets.  Redfin, a real estate brokerage firm, analyzed data about activity, listings, etc -- and discovered that the current "hottest' markets were not the "well-known bastions of privilege".  This report caught the eye of others -- so now even more people are aware of Livermore's unique and special charms.  To read an entry from the Huffington Post, click on

Panera Bread Coming! -- Panera Bread has submitted an application to remodel the vacant Chevy's restaurant building at 4685 First Street.  Panera would like to change the facade, the outdoor paint color, and the outdoor dining patio.  Their proposal would also include access to the parking lot from Southfront Road.  The project is now under review by City staff.  The Livermore location would join those in Concord, Dublin, Fremont, and Hayward.
