Looking to the future! On Monday, February 11th, the Livermore City Council discussed the City's Five Year Financial Outlook to determine how best to allocate resources and deliver services moving forward.  Below you will find examples of priorities that have already been implemented, including an innovative energy plan, the expansion of public safety services and the continuation of a fun library tradition. Marc

New Police Officers--On Thursday, January 31, 2013, Livermore Police Chief Steve Sweeney swore in seven new police officers.  In summer 2012, the Livermore Police Department re-established the Special Operations Unit to address gang and drug issues.  These new seven officers help replace previous vacant positions as well as those needed to staff the special unit.  Livermore's new U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell joined in the ceremony as well as Mayor John Marchand.  Other Livermore Police Department officers and staff were recognized for promotions, awards and commendations.
