Virtual Lawyers in the Library appointments take place by phone on the 4th Thursday of each month 4:30-6:30 PM. To make an appointment, call 925-373-5514 or email Joyce Nevins at firstname.lastname@example.org.
An Alameda County Bar Association lawyer will provide free 10-minute confidential consultations on a wide variety of issues: landlord-tenant disputes, probate matters, employment problems, and other general consumer issues.
The purpose of the consultation is to determine whether or not there is a legal problem and to provide guidance on how the legal problem might be solved, rather than for the attorney to provide in-depth legal analysis or advice. There is no continuing attorney/client relationship formed by meeting with a volunteer attorney, and the discussion with the attorney will be confidential. There are no specific income eligibility requirements in order to meet with an attorney through Lawyers in the Library, and the service is free.
