A READING BY AUTHOR AND FORMER POLICE OFFICER MONY NOP
Come to the Livermore Public Library, Civic Center Library for a reading by children’s book author, and retired Livermore police officer, Mony Nop on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. of his new book, Officer M.N.O.P. and Me. Having been a decorated police officer for over 17 years, Mony wanted to create this unique tool for parents, teachers, grandparents, and even police officers themselves. It teaches children the positive roles police officers serve in society. The story highlights the sacrifice and service officers make in their duties of serving and protecting us all, on and off duty. This book and reading is intended for children ages 5 to 8.
Now a Realtor, Author, Inspirational Speaker and Nonprofit Consultant in Livermore, CA, Mony served 17 years as police officer, at the City of Livermore Police Department. He earned a business degree from St.Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. As a Cambodian immigrant, who was born into a life of hardship in slave labor camps under the Pol Pot Regime, Mony understands first-hand the challenges that young adults face. He founded the Mony Nop Foundation, in order to serve youth through leadership programs. He also co-founded the Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance, dedicated to strengthening and supporting local nonprofits. Mony has been featured on The Early Show on CBS, ABC's Extreme Make Over-Home Edition and was awarded the 2014 Bay East Association of Realtors' Good Neighbors Award, the 2017 National Association of Realtors' Good Neighbor Award, and the 2018 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award.
