Sign Making Program for Youth and Teens - February 1-28

In honor of Livermore Reads Together featuring the graphic novel series MARCH by John Lewis, throughout the month of February 2021, youth and teens are invited to create and display a Black Lives Matter sign in their community. Display your sign and take a photo. Submit your photo to Librarian Paul Sevilla at with your name and contact information. By emailing your picture, you are giving permission for the library to post it on social media. Each submission is a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Black Lives Matter backpack with a commemorative set containing all three volumes of MARCH in a beautiful slipcase. Receive an extra raffle entry if you incorporate the Livermore Reads Together selection MARCH on your sign, such as including a quote from the book, an artistic interpretation, etc.

Sign-making kits (markers, poster board, tape, and paint stir sticks) are available on a first come, first served basis to the first 30 participants. Please contact Paul Sevilla to arrange to pick them up at the library.

Need tips and ideas for designing your sign? Stay tuned for a special Teen Time video by Librarian Caitlyn Lung. The video will be published on the Livermore Public Library's YouTube channel the last week of January 2021. Subscribe to the Library's YouTube channel to be notified when the video has been uploaded.

Livermore Reads Together is sponsored by the Friends of the Livermore Public Library.
